Privacy and choices
Analytics stays off until you say yes
The site works without analytics. Your watch-route progress and consent choice are stored locally in your browser, and you can withdraw analytics consent at any time.
Consent baseline
No consent, no Google Analytics request
The build may contain a GA4 measurement identifier supplied through the deployment environment, but the analytics library is not requested and analytics cookies are not created unless you select Accept analytics. Rejecting keeps it unloaded. Withdrawing disables collection, removes the loader from the page, and attempts to delete this site’s Google Analytics cookies.
Browser storage
Two local preferences
| Key | Purpose | Sent to us? |
|---|---|---|
doomsday-field-guide:analytics-consent:v1 | Remembers accepted or rejected analytics choice. | No; read locally to decide whether to load GA4. |
doomsday-field-guide:watch-progress:v1 | Saves active route and checked watch items. | No; the planner reads and writes it in this browser. |
You can remove either key through browser site-data controls. The watch planner has a route reset button. Private browsing or storage restrictions may prevent preferences from persisting.
If analytics is accepted
Limited measurement, not advertising
GA4 may process page and device interaction data and set _ga-family cookies. The site configures ad storage, ad personalization, and ad user data as denied, disables Google signals and ad-personalization signals, and requests IP anonymization. Google’s own systems and policies govern its processing.
