Infinity Vision format comparison: IMAX vs. Dolby Cinema
Infinity Vision is a theater certification, not a new projection invention. Here is what Disney has promised, what it has not published, and how to compare the room you can actually book.

A badge for qualifying PLF rooms
Confirmed Disney launched Infinity Vision in April 2026 as a certification for premium large-format theaters, developed with exhibition partners. The published focus is on large screens, laser projection, and premium audio. Participating theaters are meant to show the branding online and in the venue.
The launch announcement counted more than 75 domestic and 300 global exhibitor PLFs at that moment. That was an announcement-day snapshot, not a permanent directory or a promise that every chain location qualifies.

Choose the room, then the logo
Context IMAX and Dolby Cinema communicate more familiar branded systems, while Infinity Vision can identify strong PLF rooms across different exhibition partners. That breadth is useful, but it makes exact-room verification more important.
If the nearest Infinity Vision show offers a large well-sighted screen, laser projection, premium sound, and better seats than the alternatives, it is a rational choice. If a known IMAX or Dolby auditorium near you has stronger sightlines or a presentation you prefer, its different badge is not a downgrade by definition.
